DECA Students Shine
Alvirne’s DECA team was most successful in their state competition held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Manchester February 13th through the 15th. DECA is an organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for successful careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. Eight students won twelve medals; seven qualified for the DECA International Career Development Competition in Orlando; four students received scholarships and Paige Roark, Marketing program student was elected to State Officer. Paige is the first Alvirne student to be elected to this selective office. Sarah Compagna, Marketing teacher and DECA AHS Advisor commented, “The energy and commitment of all who participated in this state competition was outstanding. I could not be more proud of their hard work and teamwork. Our students left the conference more confident, knowledgeable, and optimistic about their future careers.”
